Continuing Education Requirements

Certification Courses


The IICRC Course Locator lists Live-stream courses available.

The course locator is updated regularly.


All Live-stream course registrants will complete the online exam using ProctorFree.

The exam fee is AU$70.00

ProctorFree is a secure online testing platform that uses facial recognition and body movements to flag suspicious behavior for the GRC staff to review. The program has access to the student’s desktop monitor to view the student’s progress, and any other computer activity. You can find out more on their informational page HERE.

Online testing requires a computer with a strong internet connection, camera, and microphone. Find all requirements HERE.

The exam fee is AU$70.00.

After you register for a Live-Stream Course, you will receive a digital link that will take you to the exam payment portal (CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS ONLY). Once the exam payment is received, the IICRC Exams Department ( will forward your exam credentials to the email address provided.

Important you must include in your registration the following:

1. Course category (i.e. WRT, CCT)

2. Date course begins

3. Instructor name

4. Digital copy of a photo ID

You have 90 days to complete the exam from the last date of the course. Please note that statistics show your chances of passing an exam are higher closer to the completion of the course.

Every exam has a specific timeframe. Please request the allotted time from your instructor.

You have two opportunities to retest. Each retest attempt must be taken within 90 days of the date listed on your fail letter. Please check the email provided for retest instructions.

An individual can attend a Live-stream course for CECs at the discretion of the instructor/school. However, all Live-stream courses are capped at 20/40 people total. All registered students are counted toward the capped total.

Attendance is taken daily. You must attend each day of the course or you forfeit your eligibility to receive certification.

Renewals Process and Fees

Pay your annual renewal fee.

Earn Continuing Education Credit (CEC) hours through CEC classes or industry events.


1. Select “International” from the top right navigation bar

2. Choose your region

3. Click the ‘Sign in’ in the upper right corner

4. Log in and pay your renewal


If you’re a Certified Technician logging in for the first time, contact for login credentials.

If you’re a Certified Firm logging in for the first time, contact for login credentials.

Your certification(s) follow you and not your company and must remain in your name. This allows you to take your certification(s) with you no matter where you’re employed.

If you’ve been expired for less than 24 months, you must email to request your invoice. Once payment is submitted and all CEC hours are up to date, your certification(s) is renewed.

If you’ve been expired for more than 24 months, you must email to request a reinstatement. Applicable fees may be assessed for all reinstatements.

You are billed based on the quantity and type of certifications that you carry.

Yes. Annual renewal is required to keep your certification(s) active.

Unfortunately, we cannot process renewals via telephone. To ensure safe transactions, please log in to your account at to remit payment.

Your renewal invoice is emailed to the email address listed in your profile. If there is no email address on file, your invoice is mailed to the mailing address provided. To update your information, please submit an Update Form.

Please note: Renewal notifications arrive from and may be found in your junk or spam folder. Network firewall settings can reject the send and prevent delivery.

Yes. IICRC staff can assist you with bulk payments for multiple renewal invoices. Please email for assistance.

Certified Firms can access and pay open invoices for linked technicians by logging in to their online company profile.

Exam Delivery, Mailing, & Printing

Certification processing takes 4-6 weeks from the date of exam completion.

Mailing of certification is 10-12 business days from the date of certification processing.

Unfortunately, we cannot email your certifications. The IICRC policy was updated in 2018 to remove the possibility of fraudulent certifications being duplicated through email files.

Certifications cannot be printed online. You can log in to your online profile and print a transcript confirming your certifications.

Your certification packet is mailed to the mailing address listed in your online profile.

Continuing Education Requirements

CECs are Continuing Education Credit hours. All Certified Technicians are required to complete ongoing education to be eligible for renewal.

Certified Technicians require 14 CECs (hours) every four years.

Master and Inspector certifications require 14 CECs (hours) every two years.

The continuing education requirement ensures ongoing training within the industry.

Yes, you can earn CECs by registration at the IICRC booth during applicable trade shows. You will receive two CECs (hours).

Please note: documentation is required to award CECs and varies by event.

Please note: It is the technician’s responsibility to submit documentation to the IICRC for proper CEC credit hours.

Currently we are unable to print CEC details on your invoice. Log in to your online profile at to view your CEC status.

Certified Firm/Technician Updates

1. Go to

2. Choose "TOOLS" from the navigation menu

3. Select Update Form, complete and submit

Once we receive your update form, we will update your information and notify when it’s complete.

To remove a Certified Technician:

1. Visit

2. Log in to your online profile.

3. Select the “Information & Settings” tab.

4. Choose the “Technicians List/Other Locations”.


You can remove technicians by clicking the red “X” to the left of their name.


To add a new Certified Technician, please submit an Update Form.

IICRC Certified Firms can view their technician list by logging into their online profile HERE.

3. Select the “Information & Settings” tab.

4. Select “Technician Lists/Other Locations”.

Here you can view a list of all current technicians.

The Update Form is required for all technicians’ invoices to redirect to a company email. You must complete the required fields in order to complete and submit the Update Form.

Each company location must have:

1. At least one IICRC Certified Technician on staff;

2. Complete Certified Firm application for each location;

3. All required documentation submitted; and

4. Pay the annual AU$225.00 renewal fee.
